She has never worked with punchers before, so it took a little bit of practice. I found this puncher to be safe for little hands since there were no exposed pieces that could injure or even pinch her fingers.
This activity is working on her coordination and her fine motor skills which is setting the foundation for future skills as she gets older. She had to use 2 hands to punch and carefully picked them out of the puncher. She slowly lined them up on her mat and started to count. She cannot count far and has to keep starting over but the patience and perseverance is a good thing to learn at this age.
She saved the snowflakes and wants to glue them on a card. I will post the next part of that project soon.
